It took years for my mother to admit she had a chemical dependence. Her addiction caused much pain and sorrow in our family and childhood was not very pleasant for me. As I got older and figured out that my mother was actually suffering from a chemical dependence I decided to find help for her. After doing some research on meth addiction treatment I decided to have an intervention done on my mother. My mother went into meth addiction treatment two years ago and today she is the mother I always wanted her to be.

When I found 12 step group six years ago for my substatnce dependency I was in total denial that I even had a problem. Everyone around me knew I had a problem though and with the help of my family I was able to find 12 step group. My substatnce dependency consumed me completely and there was nothing more important in my life than chasing the high I needed just to feel like a normal human being. Today, I'm happier than ever and so happy that I had friends and family who cared enough about me to make me get help.

Can a drug habit cause an addict to have liver problems? When my daughter started using we tried to find an alcohol rehabilitation programs center for her but the one we wanted to send her to would not take her because her liver was bad and this meant she wouldn't be able to do the program. Is there a program we can send her to that will help her overcome this addiction and get rid of the toxins stored in her body so she doesn't relapse? What kind of alcohol rehabilitation programs will be best for her so that she can overcome this horrible a drug habit?

It's hard for a parent to grasp the fact that their child is consumed by a drug and alcohol addiction or any other addiction for that matter. My father is in prison due to his addiction and will be getting out next year if he makes it that long.
